Little Klein by Anne Ylvisaker
Little Klein, by Anne Ylvisaker, reviewed by Laura Pache, Children’s Librarian, Butman-Fish Library
Candlewick Press, 2007
186 pages, $15.99, (Recommended for children ages 8-10)
What little boy doesn’t want to be a part of his big brothers’ antics and adventures? “Little” Klein is no exception. He is the youngest of four boys in a small town that is safe and carefree. His father is a traveling salesman so is seldom home, leaving his wife to raise the boys. While “Little” Klein is really small for his age, his brothers are not and are known as “the bigs.” In a dramatic ending it is “Little” Klein and his dog that save “the bigs.” A great read aloud, especially for boys.
