A Visitor for Bear by Bonny Becker

A Visitor for Bear, by Bonny Becker, reviewed by Jennie Tuttle, Children’s Department, Wickes Library
(Candlewick Press, 2008, $16.99, unpaged)
Recommended for ages 4-8.

The sign on Bear’s front door reads “No Visitors Allowed.” Yet, he hears a knock on the door one morning and opens it to reveal a small gray bright-eyed mouse. Despite Bear’s insistent dismissals, the mouse keeps popping up throughout Bear’s house politely asking for a bit of hospitality before leaving. Bear gives in, but the visit does not turn out as Bear expects. The animated facial expressions of the two characters in this title are a treat!
