Sit, Ubu, Sit by Gary David Goldberg
Sit, Ubu, Sit : How I went from Brooklyn to Hollywood with the Same Woman, the Same Dog, and a Lot Less Hair, by Gary David Goldberg, reviewed by Jeanine Collison, Reference/Business Librarian, Hoyt Library
(Harmony Books,2008, 258 pages, $23.95)
We have all seen the black lab Ubu who appears at the end of many television productions with the command “Sit, Ubu, Sit.” This book is Goldberg’s very humorously written account of his journey from vagabond “hippy” of the 60’s to successful Hollywood writer and producer with the love of his life, Diana, and beloved dog Ubu. Goldberg was writer for such sitcoms as Family Ties, Bob Newhart Show, Tony Randall Show, Spin City, and Brooklyn Bridge and founded his own company Ubu Productions.
Prepare to chuckle, because Goldberg’s gift for making people laugh is front and foremost in this book.
