John Wiley & Sons, 2007, 235 pages, $24.95

The global economy and what it literally means to the average American consumer is brought to our doorstep in this volume. Bongiorni lays out in great detail the challenges her family faced in trying to avoid Chinese-made products for an entire year—a New Year’s resolution made in response to an alarming number of Christmas gifts bearing the words “Made in China”. From toys to clothing and now even food, the Chinese have flooded the world market with their inexpensive consumer goods, replacing those produced in other countries, driving companies out of business and causing job losses to millions of people. This book is sure to make the reader consider more carefully those holiday purchases.
