Welcome, Precious by Nikki Grimes

Welcome, Precious by Nikki Grimes, reviewed by Lee Anne Haupricht, Children’s Department, Butman-Fish Library
(Orchard Books, 2006, $16.99, unpaged)
Recommended for infants or children in preschool

Illustrations and text welcome a precious newborn to life’s delights. An adoring dad, mom and grandmother celebrate the arrival of this new baby. Baby is cuddled in the warm circle of daddy’s arms, kissed by a giddy grandmother, and rubbed on the tummy by mommy’s nose. A loving family tells the baby about sun sparkle and moonlight, ice cream and chocolate fudge. This book would a perfect gift for expectant parents.
