This is the story of a young Taiwanese American school girl named Pacy. She actually has two names, her family calls her Pacy, but at her school, she is known as Grace. The story begins with the celebration of Chinese New Year that is called the Year of the Dog. Chinese legend says that during the Year of the Dog, one makes friends and finds themselves. Making a new best friend comes easy to Pacy when a new Chinese-American begins attending her school, and they have lots of fun sharing the things they have in common and learning about the things that make them different.
