Children’s Department, Wickes Library
(R & S Books, 2006, $16.00, unpaged) Recommended for ages 4-8

How do children deal with their frazzled parents? Owen usually hides in his dragon head each morning when his mom “goes completely crazy” getting ready for the day. One morning Owen wakes up to find that Mom is a dragon. She has forgotten how to do mom stuff like washing the dishes or making beds. Owen decides to take Mom to the hospital. Along the way, she eats bugs and breathes fire. Will Owen’s mom change back?
