Miss Smith Reads Again by Michael Garland
Miss Smith Reads Again, by Michael Garland, Laura Pache Children’s Librarian Butman-Fish Branch
Illustrated by the author
(Dutton Children’s Books, unpaged, 2006, $15.99)
Recommended for children ages 4-8.
For Zach school is not humdrum and boring anymore, in fact he loves school. That’s because when his teacher Miss Smith reads, the classroom changes and the characters come out of the book and into the room. One day Miss Smith decides to read Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World. Zach is especially happy because the story is about dinosaurs. But when Miss Smith gets lost in the book herself the class and Zach have to find her before the story can end and the book can be closed. The illustrations are especially vivid and eye catching. A great sequel to Miss Smith’s Incredible Storybook.
