Church Bells in the Valley by Roselyn Ederer

Church Bells in the Valley, by Roselynn Ederer, reviewed by Kelly Swartz,
Hoyt Library Local History & Genealogy Collection
(Thomastown Publishing Co., 2006, 314 pages, $21.95)

Roselynn Ederer has done it again, with Book 7 of the “Building a Michigan Lumber Town” series of books highlighting the history of the Saginaw Valley. This volume provides a well-documented history of the religious denominations throughout Saginaw County since the 1800’s. Photographs of churches, miscellaneous church groups and Sunday school classroom photographs are scattered throughout nine chapters of cited text. This is a great resource for both serious researchers and those just wanting to reminisce about Saginaw’s religious past.
