Somos Latinos: Our Stories ( A 12 Title Series)
by George Ancona, reviewed by Neica Dey, Children's Department, Hoyt Library
Children’s Press, $21.00 each
Recommended for ages 9-12

Award-winning author and photographer, Ancona, presents a fascinating look into the lives of various U.S. Latino families. Each book in the series focuses on specific aspects of a child’s life such as foods, celebrations, grandparents, chores, games, and more.

Written in Spanish and English and translated by noted authors, Alma Flor Ada and F. Isabel Campoy, each book ends with a family history of the featured children and a world map showing their countries of origin.

Clear, crisp color photographs and kid-friendly text are a winning combination in this interesting series.
