Here Lies the Librarian, by Richard Peck

Here Lies the Librarian, by Richard Peck, reviewed by Cheryl Kay, Hoyt Library.
Dial Books, 2006, $16.99, (145 pages)
Recommended for ages 8 and up.

Life was simple and easy in Rubesburg, Indiana. But when the new librarians came to town, life was never the same for 14 year old Eleanor “Peewee” McGrath and her brother Jake.
This book is a typical Peck book, with his folksy charm, his quirky characters and his offbeat humor. Peck even adds some vintage cars and tells about the only driver that finished the race in the 1914 Hendrinks County Fair dirt-track event – Peewee.
