Just Gus and The Gospel According to Sam

For animal lovers of all ages, here are two delightful reads portraying our beloved four legged friends, reviewed by Jeanine Collison, Reference/Business Librarian
Hoyt Main Library

Just Gus : A Rescued Dog and the Woman He Loved,” by Laurie Williams (McWitty Press, 80 pages, $15.95)
This book is an extraordinary, heartwarming, true story that depicts the special relationship that develops between terminally ill Stephanie Williams and the injured stray dog she rescues. Illustrated with photos of Stephanie and Gus, this short read is great for animal lovers and families to share.

“The Gospel According to Sam : Animal Stories for the Soul,” by William Miller (Seabury Books, 180 pages, $20.00)
This wonderful collection of true and inspiring animal stories is written by the Reverend William Miller and features his Airdale “Sam” (who is maimed in a house fire) along with various other animal inspirations – squirrels, rabbits, etc. This great read is about healing, humor, adventure, and spiritual growth. Enjoy!
