Recommended for teenagers
The only child of convicted felons, Harry Sue aims to be a criminal and join her mother in prison. Her heart keeps moving her in a different direction. Before she can toughen up and start her life of crime, she needs to protect a swarm of little kids from her evil Granny Clotkin, whose home day care is hazardous to their health. With her own unique style, Harry Sue finds the friends she needs to help her make it through. Breezy dialog and a whole cast of eccentric characters make this a lively read. It is one of the 2006 Michigan Notable Books.
