iPod books

iPod books, reviewed by Stacey Vogl, Wickes Library

iPod, iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle, iTunes…(iKnow it sounds confusing) what’s all the fuss about? For those of you who received an iPod during the holidays, or if you’re just curious about this new worldwide phenomenon, here are a few books to enlighten and educate you.

The iPod Book : Doing Cool Stuff with the iPod and the iTunes Music Store, by Scott Kelby (Peachpit Press, 2005, 236 pg., $19.99)
Beginners will appreciate this book, which covers the essentials, as well as cool iPod tricks and tips. Each page is a visual guide with color photos to go with the description. iTips also appear at the bottom of some pages to further explain the topics.

iPod and iTunes: The Missing Manual, by J.D. Biersdorfer (Pogue Press, 2005, 402 pg.,$24.95)
Written with the intermediate to advanced users in mind, the book goes beyond the basics and explains how to use the calendar, games, pictures, and much more.

Your iPod Life : A Guide to the Best iPod Accessories from Playlist Magazine, by Dan Frakes, (Peachpit Press, 2005, 144 pg., $12.99)
Thought the iPod phenomenon was confusing? Frakes explains that iPod accessories are just as popular as the machine itself. From cases to external speakers to FM transmitters, this book covers them all.
